Basic Yoga Techniques Help Healthcare Workers Manage Stress
A new self-training guide provides 23 exercises to help clinical and non-clinical healthcare professionals manage stress and improve their interactions with patients.
(Boonton, NJ, Oct 15, 2009) — The fast-paced and demanding environment of the typical healthcare facility can take its toll on clinical and non-clinical staff.
Left unchecked, stress mounts and can spill over into negative interactions with patients, coworkers, and others.
In the self-training publication, Yoga at Work: A Stress Reduction Guide, author Michaeline Kiss has updated 23 traditional yoga exercises for the modern healthcare facility. She notes that in just one to two minutes, either sitting at a desk or standing, healthcare workers can use these techniques to release stress and tension and focus on their patients.
"The beauty of many yoga exercises," she says, "is that they can be done individually and right at one's desk. By practicing on their own, the staff is always working at their own tempo, at their own pace, and they are doing just what they can do in the time they have available."
Yoga at Work: A Stress Reduction Guide is one of six self-training guides from the Customer Service Group's Healthcare Division. Additional information on each of the guides is available online at http://www.CustomerServiceGroup.com/healthcare.php.
