Celebrations Boost Customer Service Representative Morale and Motivation
Workplace celebrations are a great way to improve morale and enhance retention, so don't limit them to the traditional holidays and anniversaries. With a little creativity customer service managers can fill the year with motivational celebrations.
(Boonton, NJ, Jan 29, 2010) — The holidays may be over, but the celebrations don't have to end. In fact, workplace celebrations at any time of the year are a great way to build relationships, improve morale, enhance retention, and encourage employees to achieve results.
In the January issue of Customer Service Newsletter, Liz Jazwiec, a consultant and author of "Eat That Cookie!" shows readers five ways to fill the year with celebrations.
Her first suggestion is to mark interim milestones. After all, we don't have to wait for the big achievements in order to celebrate. Most customer service centers will have smaller achievements they can recognize every week or every month.
"Maybe your team went a month without an incorrect customer order, or you went an entire week without a rep being late for his or her shift on the phones," Jazwiec says. "Celebrating these small accomplishments helps employees - and their managers - realize that there are more good weeks than bad, and that the workplace can be a place where they can actually enjoy themselves."
